I am Shannon Westlake, PhD (she/her), a consilience researcher and conservation social scientist. Connected Clarity Consulting is offered through Connected Clarity LLC, my independent consulting practice.
I bring two decades of experience across scientific research, laboratory leadership, federal service, academic inquiry, and conservation social science into a consulting practice rooted in clarity, relationship, resilience, and practical application.
I work directly with each client to understand the questions, context, relationships, and decisions shaping the work. Rather than rushing immediately to the “how” or “what,” I help organizations clarify the deeper “why” that can guide more aligned, inclusive, and enduring action. My role is not to do the work for you, but to work alongside you — building knowledge, insight, and practical pathways that can strengthen your capacity for future growth and impact.

In addition to my consulting work through Connected Clarity LLC, I also lead The Positive Pollinator™, an independent research, art, and creative inquiry ecosystem where I explore biological resilience, social-ecological systems, environmental humanities, and the lived experiences of people working in complex, purpose-driven fields.
Guiding Values
These values shape how I approach consulting relationships and the questions clients bring into the work.
Connection: Seeing the relationships among people, purpose, partnerships, systems, and impact.
Clarity: Translating complexity into research-informed insight that supports thoughtful decisions.
Resilience: Understanding how people and systems adapt, endure, and strengthen over time.
Reciprocity: Creating work that is respectful, useful, and mutually beneficial.
Consilience: Bringing together scientific research, conservation practice, social-ecological thinking, and lived experience.
